WHAT IS JIU JITSU?
The word “jiu jitsu” derives from the Japanese “Jū” meaning “gentle” and “Jutsu” meaning “art”; essentially, jiu jitsu is the “gentle art”.
Jiu Jitsu is predominantly a ground-based martial art which primarily focuses on how to get dominant control over your partner, and how to effectively apply a submission. This differs from other forms of martial arts in that Jiu Jitsu does not incorporate any striking or kicking, the focus is on close contact grappling, chokes and joint-manipulation submission holds.
We follow the IBJJF belt promotion system. Belt are earned through the development of your own Jiu Jitsu skills and knowledge.

Why do Jiu Jitsu?
Jiu Jitsu is a great way to stimulate both the body and the mind.
The physical benefits are immense and all encompassing. Combing dynamic, explosive and isometric movements. It is a great way to develop both strength and cardio and promoting weight loss. Since you are fighting another opponent and moving on yours hands and feet, both balance and reaction time will be heightened.
Jiu Jitsu also offers a mental workout. It is often referred to as human chess as you’re faced with the challenge of beating an opponent using limitless techniques, movements and submissions.
